My name is Michael Devine and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas and I own a private Plano counseling and coaching practice.I am originally from Columbus, Ohio where I was born and raised. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Otterbein College: A small private school in the suburbs of Columbus. After braving the winters of the Midwest, I decided it was time to move to warmer and greener pastures of Dallas, Texas.   I received my Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas where I gained specialized training in Marriage & Family Counseling, Individual Psychodynamic/Cognitive Behavioral Counseling, College Counseling, and Psychological Assessment.

I spent the majority of my clinical training and internship working in many different settings to gather additional training to become the best possible therapist that I could be for my clients. Some of the settings that I have worked in are listed below:

  • UNT Counseling & Testing Center
  • UNT Psychology Clinic
  • DFW Center for Autism
  • Nelson Residential Treatment Center for Children
  • Hickory Trail Mental Hospital
  • Adapt Mobile Crisis Assessment
  • The Irving Family Advocacy Center

I am an active member in the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, and the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. My practice is part of a cutting edge group practice that believes strongly in the mind/body connection and treats the individual client as a whole; providing its clients with full service psychological, spiritual, nutritional, and psychiatric needs.

Christy Lewis holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She also attended the University of North Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has counseled for a combined 16 years in several clinical and medical settings and has offered career/life coaching for an additional 12 years. Christy is also Board Certified in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback through BCIA, the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance organization.

Christy Lewis counsels individuals of all ages who need help with issues ranging from severe emotional turmoil to people who are working on taking their personal growth and/or career to a higher level.  Specifically, she has extensive experience working with kids and teens with anxiety, ADHD, frustration/anger, and behavioral issues.  She also works with individuals who need help managing and improving life/career transition, pain symptoms, depression, severe anxiety, relational issues, social skills, and parenting skills.

Christy’s approach is cognitive/behavioral, goal-oriented and eclectic, as she believes the process of counseling involves creativity, skillfulness and a collaborative alliance between the therapist and the client.  She backs up this belief by utilizing Biofeedback, and self-regulation methods in her practice as an adjunct therapy modality.  Biofeedback and EEG training can help the client enhance their physical function and greatly improve emotional stability.

Prior to working in private practice settings, Christy worked in Psychiatric and Rehabilitation hospital settings where she gained invaluable experience.  In the hospitals she facilitated many clinical groups such as anger management, stress management, and assertiveness training.  Additionally, she worked in career transition/outplacement settings helping clients with their career transition needs.  She has facilitated many career transition workshops which include how to write a powerful resume, stress and your job, interviewing basics, how to market yourself, and how to negotiate.

Christy currently works in a private practice setting and counsels with a variety of age groups, specifically children, teens, and adults with ADD/ADHD, anxiety, behavioral issues, and depression. Whatever your life journey is, Christy considers it a privilege to work in a counseling setting and truly enjoys helping her clients face their life challenges and meet their goals.
